1.Basic Physical & Chemical Properties

White powder, odorless and tasteless. Insoluble in water, soluble in dilute acids with release of carbon dioxide.

Industrial calcium carbonate is mainly divided into two categories:

Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) Manufactured by mechanical crushing, grinding and classification of natural calcite and limestone ore.

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) Produced via chemical precipitation process from limestone.

3.Main Application Fields

Plastics Industry (PE, PP, PVC, Masterbatch) Used as filler for modification to reduce raw material costs and improve the rigidity and dimensional stability of finished products. Activated calcium carbonate possesses far better compatibility with plastics than ordinary calcium carbonate.

Rubber Industry Functions as reinforcing filler to enhance the tensile strength and wear resistance of rubber, and can partially replace carbon black.

Coatings & Inks Serves as extender pigment to improve hiding power and weather resistance, as well as the sanding property of paint films.

Adhesives & Sealants Acts as filler to adjust consistency and boost the strength of adhesive layers.

Paper Making (Ordinary calcium carbonate is commonly used; activated calcium carbonate is rarely applied) Used as filler and coating pigment.

Others: Artificial stone, building materials, daily chemical industry
